G-Dragon has revived the ‘wearing sleepwear in public’ trend by continuously appearing in pajama outfits at airports and backstage
The trend of wearing sleepwear in public is becoming increasingly popular, reflecting a spirit of freedom and effortless style. As one of Asia’s leading trendsetters, G-Dragon is no exception to this wave. He continuously excites fashion enthusiasts by appearing in pajama outfits at airports, backstage during his tours, or in his personal Instagram photos. His spontaneous yet striking appearances have brought the pajama style closer to young people, reinforcing a new fashion mindset: comfortable yet undeniably fashionable.
It is no coincidence that people call G-Dragon the ‘King of K-pop’ or the ‘chameleon’ of Asian fashion. Every time he appears—whether on stage, backstage, or at the airport—he sparks powerful fashion trends. Recently, an image of G-Dragon wearing a dark gray pajama set while walking through Incheon Airport’s arrival hall once again set social media ablaze.
The dark gray pajamas he wore were not a high-end runway design, but rather an amenity gift for business-class passengers from Korean Air, produced by the brand Frette.

In every frame, G-Dragon playfully switches up his style—pairing pajamas with a Chanel graffiti bag, a cardigan, or sneakers.

On recent runways, that spirit is clearly evident. Many fashion houses have brought sleepwear onto the catwalk—not as clothing confined to the bedroom, but as an image of freedom and confidence. Soft seams, shimmering silk or satin fabrics, neutral or metallic color palettes… all come together to tell the story of a generation that dares to dress according to emotion, without needing to follow any rules.

Beyond the runway, pajamas have also taken over the streets. Striped sleep pants and flowy silk shirts paired with sneakers or high heels have become familiar sights among young people in Seoul, Paris, and New York. Pajamas were once associated with relaxation and privacy—but it is precisely that ‘natural ease’ that contemporary fashion now embraces. As life grows faster and as concepts like ‘quiet luxury’ and ‘comfort dressing’ rise to prominence, pajamas emerge as a gentle form of rebellion that allows you to be ‘both comfortable and stylish.

On November 8–9, G-Dragon brought his Übermensch tour to Hưng Yên, Vietnam. On social media, Vietnamese fans encouraged each other to wear pajamas to cheer for their idol — a fun way of ‘tuning in’ to the new trend.
